When you're ready for change... or not
Therapy is all about change. Most folks come to therapy because they're either ready for change or they're not. Clients who are ready for change might be looking to feel better, to enhance functioning, or to improve their relationship(s). Clients who are not ready for change might be struggling with an unexpected or unwelcome development like loss (in its many forms), instability, or a threat to their identity. Regardless of the circumstances that brought you here, you're in the right place.
Lillian Goodkind, LCSW
A complex upbringing combined with profound loss in my late 20s prompted me to let go of a career in corporate finance to help others. Confronted with a debilitating medical condition over a decade later, I truly began to accept the connection between mind and body - and the ways in which trauma folds itself into both. My lived experience affords me the opportunity not only to better understand and empathize with mental illness but also to guide others in managing it. Cultivating resilience is my superpower.

"Lillian is kind and patient. She seems to really want to get at the problem that’s bothering me without pushing too hard. I’ve had therapists in the past who seemed to just say what they thought I wanted to hear, but Lillian is adept at making suggestions and providing feedback that is beneficial even if it’s not a direct support of my actions or opinions."

"Lillian has made a significant impact on me and my life, and working with her has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. She is compassionate and understood me so well. She encouraged me to try to think about things from a different perspective and to be kind to myself. There are not enough words to fully explain what working with Lillian did for me, but I completely flourished from working with her."

FAQ
Where will we meet?
Wherever you are! Through online sessions, we can meet anywhere in the Commonwealth with a solid internet connection. Coming soon to folks in/near Philadelphia: nature-based sessions in Wissahickon Valley Park.
Who do you support?
Motivated adults. My clients often include folks in the LGBTQ+ community, individuals practicing ENM, and the neurospicy. As a descendent of the Lac du Flambeau band of Lake Superior Chippewa, I align closely with the BIPOC collective. I also serve those in Standard Edition and the 9-to-5 crowd.
What will I get out of this?
Together, we’ll partner to honor your authentic self and work toward living your best life. I strive to identify and eliminate barriers to growth. Every client brings a unique skillset into therapy; my aim is to capitalize on existing strengths, foster intuition, and bolster confidence.
Do you take insurance?
Not at this time. Instead, I offer a sliding scale based on each individual’s personal financial experience. After a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation, all new clients receive a Good Faith Estimate that provides detailed information about costs, cancellation policies, and more. If you have questions about this, please message me.
